SaFaL Buyer Consultation

December 2, 2018 STIP and Solidaridad, in February 2019, will organise a buyer consultation meeting for the Bangladeshi government and shrimp exporters, as part of the ongoing Sustainable Agriculture, Food Security and Linkages (SaFaL) programme. The goal of this meeting is to facilitate a dialogue between the Bangladeshi delegation and high-level European stakeholders. This will give the Bangladeshi representatives insights about the desires and demands of the European market and the current market position of Bangladeshi shrimp. The Bangladeshi delegation will leave with valuable input for deciding the best way forward for the future direction of their shrimp industry. As soon as we finalise the dates, we will let you know! The SaFal programme has been running for the last five years- phase two began in 2017 and is set to run until 2021. The programme focuses on aquaculture, dairy and horticulture. It aims to, through a market-based approach, improve food security in the delta regions of Bangladesh Learn more about the SaFaL programme here.
