The story of Seafood TIP

By 2050, world population is expected to hit 10 billion, and demand for animal protein will increase by over 50%. However, the aquaculture sector is not maturing and modernizing fast enough to be the sustainable source to feed the future generation. While the world lives in the digital information age, the aquaculture sector lags behind.

This is what we, at Seafood TIP, try to solve.  Our goal is simple: make the seafood supply chain more transparent and sustainable by providing objective data supported by analysis and market-leading framework models to our members. By doing so, businesses can make more informed and sustainable decisions. We offer our members standardized products providing information on the development in the industry and offer tailor made consultancy services.

Seafood TIP is based in the Netherlands and owned by Norway-based Kontali, the leading business intelligence provider in the global seafood industry. We have big ambitions, and we need to convince as many companies and organizations, big and small, that objective intelligence is crucial if they want to retain profitability and reach their sustainability ambitions in the future.

This is where you, our Sales manager, come in.

What will you do?
You will take the lead in growing Seafood TIP’s member base quickly, by finding new member leads and attracting new clients through direct acquisition. We have been growing fast and we need you to continue this pace. Next to this, you will be responsible for the account management of our local and global members by being their first point of contact and maintaining and strengthening the relation with them.
You will work closely with Kontali’s Sales and Marketing manager in Norway. Together, you will decide on the best routes to market and work following our common strategy.
Furthermore, you will be representing Seafood TIP during trade shows, industry conferences, webinars and gatherings. We are looking for a confident, young professional with proven talent to convince people and companies of the value of Seafood TIPs products and services with an eagerness to learn and develop. Having an affinity with the (sea)food industry is preferred, but not necessarily needed.

Required skills
  • Keen to work in a global start-up environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven talent in prospecting, acquisition and/or sales
  • Willingness to do sales through phone, email, and live meetings
  • Willingness to travel internationally (Europe, Asia, North and South America)
  • Being able to read, write and report in fluent English
Other preferable skills
  • Fluent in other languages besides English
  • Experience with digital sales and marketing tools
  • Experience with CRM tools

We offer a one-year contract with the option to extend when the cooperation is successful. Depending on experience, we offer a competitive salary for a full-time position (36 hours), including fringe benefits.
